Per prima cosa, come letto da qualche parte nella rete, malgrado quello che dice Fastweb, Valentino Rossi o chi per loro, gli abbonamenti "nattati" offerti da Fastweb non sono connessioni ad Internet, ma connessioni ad una grossa "rete privata" con possibilità di accesso ad Internet, che non è esattamente la stessa cosa di una "connessione ad Internet".

Nel momento in cui si accede alla rete Internet, l'ip è "nattato" (condiviso da moltissime persone della rete privata Fastweb) e quindi non si può essere raggiungibili dall'esterno.

Grazie a questo meccanismo non si possono usare le infinite network applications in a decent way: you can not create an FTP server, WEB, SSH, etc. ... accessible by anyone, anywhere. E 'can be accessed only if it is within the Fastweb network.

So if I'm working on a university project, and I have an urgent need to access the data I have on my home computer, I am unable to do that since I have a public ip.

My question in this respect is: why pay more for a connection that has a serious disability? If you want the public IP, Fastweb provides it to 1 € per day for no more than 20 consecutive days ....

But in this case, rather than to make me a subscription Fastweb, I would subscribe to the NGI that ping very low level as those of Fastweb (if not lower) for simple network access, and costs much less than that of Fastbweb.

A prima vista sembrano dei giocattolini, tipo i walkie talkie dei bambini.

Incuriosito, mi sono messo alla ricerca di cosa volesse significare la sigla "PMR 446" e ho scoperto che il servizio "Private Mobile Radio 446" nasce per riservare delle frequenze di uso generico ai cittadini (europei). A differenza delle frequenze radioamatoriali, qui non c'è alcun canone da pagare.

La portata dichiarata è di 5Km. Fino a poco tempo fa pensavo che quella misera antennina non ce la potesse never do to pass so far, but yesterday morning I said to a gentleman who was broadcasting from the Sacro Monte. The delivery was made by TNT: the carrier was very kind to me as called on the phone to ask what time she could spend. He had been at home, but we were all out.

Inside the package I found the "trinket", power supply, an unshielded CAT5 ethernet cable (I used a screen that I had already) and well 4 stickers FON (2 big and 2 little ones).

The first impression I had of use has not been positive.

This "little thing", I created a lot 'of problems. The key ASUS WL-167g (Given to me by my darling) only once in ten snaps to the public signal. And what's more, after a few seconds off.

I had barely time to register the product ... then they are no longer able to connect to either the public signal, or the private signal.

The cool thing is that this trinket has two "networks": a public (unencrypted) can be used by foneros and the other private (encrypted) for personal use.

As mentioned before, initially I was very disappointed from the purchase, but I preferred to think that the problem was not the La Fonera, but the key ASUS. Since the drivers for Linux are in "beta" version, I did something that I was not a long time ... I decided to install your copy of Windows XP that came with the laptop, install the drivers and see if there were still problems.

Even under Windows, the problem persisted.

At this point I tried to use the key in college. (I had not done) To my amazement I noticed that the problems I faced at home did not occur and the key worked really well!

So I contacted customer service and I described the problem. No procedure solved my situation, so I was told that the Fonera would return the parent company for investigation. A few days later I was contacted by TNT that is passed to withdraw the product and has returned to Spain.

The costs were borne by Fon.

Although the product, initially, did not leave me satisfied I must say that the service is excellent and well-organized. soon will come the "replacement", I'll write another post.

Not bad when you consider that the full price is 50 € plus carriage and VAT.

This reduced price is offered to members who purchase a FON router for the first time. (If you buy two, the second of course you pay the full price).
